Fernanda's Post Day 6 - July 25th

Today was a day full of energy, work, and fun. We started the day at 5:45AM when the alarm went off, we brushed our teeth, changed, made the bed and went to reception. We arrived at 6:30 AM at the reception where we were given toasted bread, egg, banana chips, and tomato with naranjilla water for Breakfast. After breakfast, at approximately 7:15 AM, we went to the BioFactory, which is our work area. We arrived at 7:20 AM at the BioFactory. Once in the BioFactory we talk a bit about the projects and then we separate into groups to go to our work areas. The Young Dreamers came to help us with our projects and arrived at 8:00 AM. We work from 7:30 AM to 12 PM. The young dreamers were rotated to make sure they participated in all the projects and activities so they could see what we were doing. This also with the idea that they learn something from each project. Part of what my team did was mix dirt, cement and water to create concrete and continue to make the base where the rabbits and worms will eventually be placed once the work is done. Similarly, we knocked down a clay wall approximately one meter high and one meter wide. And lastly we had to carry Buckets of earth up the hill since the machinery that was responsible for doing this could not go up since the clay was wet which turned into mud and it was too slippery. At about ten o'clock in the morning we had a break and ate an apple. Several people, including me ended up tired of the arms but it was definitely a good day's work.

We left work at 12:30 and arrived in 7 minutes at Doña Teresita's place where they fed us at approximately 1PM. Today we ate white rice, with cooked vegetables, a fruit salad and water made from something similar to guavas but small. We had a break from 1 to 2 pm in which we prepared to go to the square to play different activities with the young dreamers. From 2 pm to 3:30 pm we play different games with the young dreamers, tug of war, volleyball, soccer, and even sack race, among other games that are well known in Costa Rica. At 3:30 PM we went to have coffee at Don Juan's reception. We had coffee with bread until 4:30 PM and then they let us go to rest, take a bath, read or do any activity we liked but as long as we were in our tents. At 6:30 PM we went down to the reception to eat the dinner that Don Juan had given us, which consisted of a salad, with white rice, chicken breast, and lemonade. We finished dinner at approximately 7:30 PM and then went to a group circle where we reflected on what inspired us this week. In the same way we wrote a letter of thanks to a thing, which could be any object but not a person, this with the purpose to link our thoughts and thanks to the place where we are. At 8:30 we retired to our rooms and at 10 PM the lights were turned off to rest and have enough energy for the next day.
