Victoria’s Post Day 9 - July 28th

The start to a sunny morning lead us to our first event of the day a discussion with Jonathan about the amount of water that we all use and how we we preserve or waste water.

We all discussed ways to better preserve water with our consumption of meats, dairy, clothing and so much more. After an hour of reflection we walked to the biofabrica for another hard day of work. As a group we all worked together using a bucket brigade to efficiently take up dirt for the cement. After a long day of work we are able to have an amazing lunch with doña floras which mostly lead everyone to nap afterwards.

After everyone was well rested we watched a documentary called cowspiracy. That talked about our consumption of meat products and how meat and dairy products are our main source of water consumption. Some information from the film included

  • 2,500 gallons of water for 1 pound of beef

  • 660 gallons for one burger

  • Cattle causes 51% of gas emissions

  • Leading cause of rainforest deforestation

  • 1 foot ball field per second is destroyed in the Amazon

We all have had time to reflect on the changes that can be made to help support our planet.

We hope that you join us in living a more sustainable lifestyle in the best way you can because each one of us can change the world.

Pura vida
